Russell Dize
Of Counsel
Russell Dize is Of Counsel to Patrick Doerr, where he focuses on intellectual property litigation involving trademarks, copyrights, and licensing. He frequently advises clients on protecting creative work, resolving disputes, and negotiating license agreements, and he represents clients in state and federal courts as well as before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Russ has a long track record of supporting toy inventors and toy companies in disputes over new product ideas. In Design Innovation, Inc. v. Fisher-Price, Inc. (D. Conn. 2006), his clients secured a $1.7 million jury verdict for the misappropriation of a novel toy concept after he conducted and defended more than twenty-five depositions. In a similar matter, he secured a six-figure settlement for another toy inventor without the need for litigation.
He also has extensive experience enforcing trademark and copyright rights across industries, including proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board to oppose or cancel applications and registrations. His work spans both domestic and international enforcement, particularly within the toy and game sector, where he has helped clients safeguard ideas and bring creative concepts to market with confidence.
