Carr Davis serves as Of Counsel to Patrick | Doerr and Chair of its IP Monetization & Diligence Group, a forward-thinking practice specializing in intellectual property assessment, monetization, due diligence, and strategic counseling. A recognized leader in software, risk management, and compliance, Carr has designed and led IP monetization strategies and diligence reviews for numerous companies.

In addition to his legal practice, Carr is a Senior Advisor at Oaklins DeSilva+Phillips and a partner at ISMS Applications, a leading provider of technology-assisted compliance solutions. Most recently, he facilitated the sale of ISMS Applications’ AI/NLP technology to ProcessUnity, a top-tier risk management company. Carr has been involved in all aspects of content licensing, managing licenses for major cable news outlets and news distributors, including AP, Bloomberg, Congressional Quarterly, Dow Jones, and Thomson Reuters. He has also recently managed multiple transactions in the SaaS space, particularly within Third Party Risk (GRC).

Previously, Carr was a partner at ASC Partners, LLC, which was acquired by VIQ Solutions in 2020. Earlier in his career, he co-founded FDCH eMedia in 1993, pioneering real-time direct distribution for B2B partners and establishing new syndication markets for television text. The company served major media outlets such as CNN, NBC, Fox News, and CBS before being acquired by Congressional Quarterly in 2004. An accomplished negotiator and dealmaker, Carr has worked with some of the largest private equity firms and advertising companies, including Marlin Equity Partners and WPP.
