Robert J. Rando is a Partner at Patrick Doerr, where he brings more than three decades of experience in intellectual property, commercial litigation, and appellate advocacy. His practice spans patent, copyright and trademark litigation, constitutional and administrative law, and high-stakes federal matters across industries from technology and life sciences to emerging fields such as AI, blockchain, and autonomous vehicles.
As appellate counsel, Robert has contributed to more than 30 amicus briefs before the U.S. Supreme Court and Federal Circuit, including in landmark cases such as eBay v. MercExchange and Amgen v. Sanofi. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Court-Appointed Masters, having served as Special Master in complex patent cases, and frequently acts as a mediator and neutral in both patent and commercial disputes.
Recognized as both an advocate and thought leader, Robert lectures widely on intellectual property and appellate law, and his commentary has appeared in Law360, Bloomberg Law, and National Law Journal.
