Andrew's client roster reflects the breadth of his IP practice. He has represented writers, photographers, illustrators, designers, artists, an Academy Award-winning documentarian, and public relations agencies. About Andrew Berger
Andrew Berger is a leading intellectual property litigator whose practice centers on copyright and trademark protection and disputes. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyer in Intellectual Property Litigation for 14 consecutive years and has built a practice that spans litigation, teaching, mediation, and public engagement.
Teaching: For more than a decade, Andrew has served as an adjunct professor at Cornell Law School, where he teaches a copyright litigation seminar. He describes his students’ curiosity and enthusiasm for IP law as a source of ongoing inspiration for his own practice.
Mediation: For over thirty years, Andrew has served as a mediator in the Southern District of New York, handling copyright and trademark matters. Observing skilled IP counsel advocate in mediation settings has continuously informed and strengthened his approach to conflict resolution.
Speaking: Andrew is a sought-after speaker and debater on AI and IP developments before bar associations, law schools, IP organizations, and on podcasts.
Leadership: Andrew co-founded and served as the inaugural president of the Intellectual Property Institute, a subgroup of the Litigation Counsel of America—a trial lawyer honorary society.
Membership: Andrew served for many years as a trustee and member of the executive committee of the Copyright Society, and remains active in the ABA Litigation Section and the International Trademark Association.
